Our amazing volunteers are an integral part of our organisation. They are highly dedicated and passionate individuals and we simply could not do the work we do without them.

We offer a range of rewarding volunteer opportunities. If you have a few spare hours a week, a love of animals and want to support your local community, Lort Smith might be the place for you!

Current vacancies

Lort Smith ceased all onsite volunteering and Pet Therapy visits effective Monday 23 March.

We are now in the process of slowly reintroducing our onsite volunteers through a staged process.

We are carefully monitoring public health policies relating to the current COVID-19 outbreak and are following directives from the Australian and Victorian Chief Medical Officers.

  • Do you love helping people and animals?
  • Do you have the ability to cope in a fast paced and often emotional environment?
  • Do you have experience working with people from diverse backgrounds?
  • Can you volunteer 3-4 hours a week?
