CT scanner

Thanks to some generous donors and GE, the Hospital has acquired a state-of-the-art CT scanner, the first of its kind in a not for profit facility. A CT is a type of x-ray that takes 3D pictures and can provide more accurate diagnostic information and better quality information to help our vets plan surgeries.

The CT scanner allows us to diagnose and treat many illnesses and conditions we would have previously been unable to treat. With specialist interpretation from VetCT, it has been a great asset to diagnose lung metastasis (small lesions that would not be detected with regular radiographs), abdominal tumours, nasal lesions, liver shunts, middle ear disease, amongst others.

How to book a CT scan
Lort Smith vets will arrange an appointment for regular Lort Smith clients.
