Peter has been a highly respected newsreader for many years. In 2020 he celebrates 55 years as a newsmaker – the past 47 of them with the Nine Network – a remarkable feat in any industry, let alone the highly competitive field of broadcast journalism. In 2017, Peter was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for his services to broadcast media and the wider community.
Most recently, Peter supported Lort Smith at the 2019 Dog Lovers Show – the greatest festival in the world dedicated to dog lovers! Presenting throughout the three-day event, Peter delivered home emergency pet care news with Lort Smith vets.
