New Year's Resolution for your pet 30/12/2015

While many people make the New Year’s Resolution to lose weight, it is important pet owners are also conscious of their pet’s weight.

Like people, there are serious health consequences for overweight and obese pets including arthritis, heart disease, diabetes, breathing problems and a shortened lifespan.

“At Lort Smith Animal Hospital, we unfortunately see many animals with preventable diseases exacerbated by their obesity,” Dr Harrison said. “The main cause of weight gain is overfeeding, poor nutrition and a lack of exercise.”
