The Lort Smith Animal Hospital supports an expanding array of volunteer programs in many levels of the community. We welcome the help of volunteers in these areas, if you have a love for animals and a desire to help your community.

PALS Pets Are Loving Support

This program has been running for over 20 years and involves volunteers using their own animals to visit and improve the lives of hospital and nursing home residents. Your dog must undergo an induction program in order to join this program.

Pet Supplies Shop

The Hospital runs a small pet supplies shop inside its waiting room. The shop is open between normal business hours and is staffed entirely by volunteers. All the proceeds from the shop go directly towards funding the operating loss of the hospital, or towards it Pets as Therapy or PALS programs.
