Corporate giving

Workplace giving programs make it simple and easy for employees to be involved and contribute to charities of their choice. Lort Smith Animal Hospital has enlisted the support of Charity Aid Foundation (CAF), which is a centralised coordinating body that recieves, processes, distributes and receipts workplace donations on our behalf.

Our workplace giving program through CAF means that our administration costs are reduced so that we can focus on putting more money back into the hospital and caring for animals in need. 

Lort Smith has been fortunate to be chosen as a workplace giving partner by many organisations including:

  • Department of Primary Industries - Victoria

Our relationship with these organisations also provides opportunities for us to work together on community fundraising and employee volunteering projects.

A major benefit of work place giving for employees is that donations are deducted from your pre-tax salary. When you make a general donation to a charity you would normally claim it as a tax deduction in your annual tax return. Through pre-tax payroll giving the Australian Tax Office allows you to claim the benefit up front each pay.

There is also the option to have your employer match your donations, meaning that Lort Smith will receive double your original donation amount.
