How to Adopt an Animal
How to Adopt an Animal
The kennels and cattery are open to the public 9.30a.m. - 3.30 p.m. daily. During this time you are welcome to come and look at our dogs and cats.
Animals come into us as either "For Home" or as a "Stray".
For Home animals are those that have been brought in to us because their owner can no longer keep them. Once a dog or cat has been vaccinated and quarantined for 8 days then if suitable for re-homing they can be adopted as soon as a new owner is found. A surrended pet with a current vaccination immunity can be sold immediately.
Stray animals must be held for 8 days to allow their original owner to claim them. During these eight days the public are welcome to view the stray dogs. If a person wishes to purchase a particular stray dog when it becomes available then we will record their details against that stray's I.D. number. We will take two names per stray. These people will have first preference. We do ask however that an interested buyer arrive at 9.30 a.m. sharp the day it can go up for sale. We cannot hold an animal for a buyer. To avoid an unnecessary trip we also ask the buyer to ring the day before the sale date to ensure the animal has not been claimed. This service is not currently available for the stray cats.
